Update 1st February 2018

Sarah West

January was a quiet month racing wise for Ditcheat Thoroughbreds with the continued wet weather and heavy ground at racecourses around the country.

Paul Nicholls has only sent out a few runners however the impressive performances of Frodon and Warriors Tale last weekend show the horses are in good form.

This weekend we have Marracudja entered at Musselburgh on Saturday in the ‘Scottish Champion Chase”.  He is one of 26 entries Paul has made at the Edinburgh track in search of some better ground.  The in-form Bryony Frost may ride Marracudja and we’ll be hoping for a bold show from the 7 year old who was a dual winner for us last season.

Our popular grey Volpone Jelois has entries at Musselburgh and at Taunton this weekend, back over hurdles after two close third places on the all weather at Lingfield.

The other horses are in good form and are ready to go as soon as there are suitable races and ground conditions
