2011 bay gelding by Full Of Gold (Fr) ex Ierbasa De Kerpaul (Fr) (Cadoubel (Fr))
Since joining the Ditcheat Thoroughbreds team, Orbasa has been a model of consistency only rarely being out of the first four, earning plenty of prize money for his syndicate in the process.
Orbasa has been running mainly over two and a half miles this season but the plan is to run over slightly further with him now. Orbasa started the autumn season with a handicap mark of 125, the lowest he has had in his English career and duly rewarded his owners with a great win at Wincanton recently.
A solid jumper who is now able to run in a lower class of race than he has been able to for over a season will make life easier. He will continue to give his owners fun days out while earning a continued steady stream of prize money.
Orbasa came to me after a hard season of racing and training in France. He enjoyed and improved after a summer break. I think there is a great deal to come from him. A strong horse physically who will benefit from having a full season in the yard and I can see him having big days ahead.
Orbasa made his debut for Paul in February after enjoying a successful season in France with Guillame Maccaire when winning twice. He was sent off odds on favourite, and delivered in fine style making all the running and never coming off the bridle.
From that novice chase Orbasa stepped up straight into class 2 company recording two fine efforts in defeat around Ascot, and Kempton, his jumping on both occasions impressing on difficult tracks.
Without doubt however his career best effort was in a Class 1 Listed Handicap chase at Ayr in April 2016, where although finishing second he showed a great degree of promise, once again jumping fluently and seeing his race out very strongly.

Sam Twiston-Davies SAYS
Orbasa seems to be getting better with every run. As he learns to adjust to the English style of racing, he jumps soundly and has an excellent temperament, making him tactically versatile in tricky handicaps. Being only six he feels like he has plenty more to offer
