One Night in Milan (Ire)
2013 bay gelding by Milan ex Native Mo (Ire) (Be My Native (USA))
This half brother to Gold Cup third Native River didn’t run last season, Paul decided that more time to develop and grow before hitting the racecourse would benefit him.
Like all of our young unraced horses he is now training nicely as we gradually increase his work load as his fitness improves. A medium sized four year old, One Night In Milan has a professional attitude towards his work, something that will stand him in good stead when he does start his racing career.
So long as he continues to progress a bumper in the autumn will be the natural starting place before running over hurdles. He has already done plenty of schooling, and looks a natural jumper. All in all he is an exciting young horse for the coming winter.
Last season we had some excellent success with national hunt types running in bumpers so I’m looking forward to this lad running in a bumper in the spring. He’s a really nice sort and I love his attitude towards his work. I will take my time with him and he will very much tell me when he’s ready to run.
Originally sourced by Tom Malone from the Goffs Land Rover sale in Ireland One Night in Milan half brother to two Grade 1 winners has been broken in and already looks to have a fantastic temperament towards life. Very straightforward he is a good mover and jumps beautifully already.
Assistant trainer Harry Derham’s comment on One Night in Milan. “Having been broken in with Jack Barber he came to join us at team Ditcheat and we liked him straight away. He seems to have a fantastic attitude and having schooled him myself already its clear he isn’t going to find jumping any problem at all”.

Tom Malone SAYS
Having bought the Grade 1 winning Native River I was excited to see his half brother by Milan. I immediately loved him, he’s a sharp racey horse who I believe will run as four year old and in time make a good chaser.
