Jessber’s Dream (Ire)

2010 bay mare by Milan ex Maddy’s Supreme (Ire) (Supreme Leader)

Despite running with credit on three occasions last season Jessber’s Dream wasn’t able to hit the score sheet in what was ultimately a slightly subdued year for her.

That was however her first season with us and like so often is the case with horses, the key isn’t always the easiest to find with them. Her best run of the season last year came when second to the good mare Ron’s Dream at Warwick in February when making a bold bid from the front.

Jessber’s Dream will now head into the novice chase field with optimism that she will recapture that spark that made her such a good force the season before last. She is another that will hopefully benefit from the mare novice chase programme where there are plenty of opportunities for her to get her head back in front.

PAUL’S POINTERS

I watched Jessber’s Dream earlier in her career having been seriously impressed with her progression I was very interested when I knew she was going to the sales. A strong race mare who looks to have a good attitude on the track, along with plenty of ability. We are looking forward to running her in the excellent programme of Mares race.

Initially the winner of a three mile Irish point to point Jessber’s Dream has since been in the care of Harry Fry. After finishing fourth in an Aintree 2015 bumper, she showed marked improvement to win her first two novice hurdles in fine style, jumping well throughout both contests. She moved up to listed company where she ran a blinder behind Willie Mullins’ trained Myska at Taunton on nearly unraceable ground, only beaten by 2½ lengths .

Her improvement continued as she again moved up in class to compete at Grade 2. Firstly finishing second to Flute Bowl beaten 1¼ lengths, then going one better when destroying her opposition having made all the running around Sandown, beating Katie Too by 8 lengths.

A trip to Fairyhouse for the European Breeders Fund Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final awaited her where she raced brilliantly finishing second to Jer’s Girl, giving her 13lbs in weight. Jer’s Girl franked that form winning the two mile novice hurdle at Punchestown in April.

Tom Malone SAYS

Jessber’s Dream was a mare we had to have, she ticked every box as a racehorse – size, scope and a lot of ability. She will be very exciting over fences. Ditcheat Thoroughbreds couldn’t have chosen a better mare for their members. A great prospect to be part of for the future, the fact she is already Grade 1 placed means she has great value, even after her racing career.
